Transwaste is a family-founded recycling and waste-to-fuel business on the Humber — its Melton Waste Park sorts skip, commercial and council waste, turns residues into SRF and RDF fuels, and sells aggregates, biomass and rock salt.

Founded in 2002 by brothers Paul and Mark Hornshaw, Transwaste operates Melton Waste Park just west of Hull — one of the most heavily permitted single sites in the region, with capacity for 771,250 tonnes a year across recycling, fuel production, inert crushing, wood and green-waste processing.

Waste from skips, businesses and councils is sorted at its materials recycling facility; what cannot be recycled becomes solid recovered fuel for cement kilns or refuse-derived fuel for energy-from-waste, baled and exported through the Port of Hull. Inert material becomes recycled aggregate, wood becomes biomass chip, and on-site wind turbines help power the park.

Transwaste adds a Yorkshire & Humber cluster to the group, a long-term public-sector anchor contract and in-house fuel generation — taking the group’s permitted capacity past two million tonnes a year.
