CW Russell is a family-run Teesside haulage, plant and aggregates business — around 75 HGVs and 40+ machines providing muck-away, crushing and screening, earthworks and recycled aggregates to the construction industry.

What began in 1993 with Charlie Russell and a single truck is now one of Teesside’s busiest haulage and plant operators, run with his son Tom. From its Grangetown depot the business runs around 75 heavy goods vehicles — Mercedes-Benz Arocs tippers, bulk artics, grab wagons and STGO low loaders — and more than 40 items of plant.

Its Environment Agency-permitted sites recycle construction and demolition waste into soils and aggregates, and mobile crushers and screens work on customers’ sites across the region. It sells quarried and recycled aggregates, sand, topsoil and volumetric concrete, and delivers plant anywhere in the UK.

Inside the group, CW Russell provides the North East cluster’s haulage and plant capacity and feeds its volumes to the Scott Bros wash plants — a closed loop, with the two businesses’ sites only a few hundred metres apart.
