The Platform

One group. Three capabilities. Six demanding markets.

APSG unites precision machining, non-destructive testing, and certified special process under one roof, serving aerospace, defense, space, rail, power and utilities, and energy.

Capability first

APSG is not a holding company collecting cash flows. Every acquisition is chosen for what it can make, test, or certify, and for how those capabilities interlock. Machining builds the part. NDT proves it. Certified special process makes it acceptable to the programs that specify it. The group is being assembled now, company by company, from proven family-owned operators across the US and UK.

Precision CNC machining and advanced materials

CNC milling and turning, EDM, fabrication, welding, and assembly, with depth in the materials that make demanding programs difficult: engineering alloys, ceramics, composites, and additive manufacturing.

End markets: aerospace, defense, space, and advanced industrial.

Non-destructive testing solutions

NDT products and engineered solutions: eddy current instruments, ultrasonic transducers, calibration standards, cables, and custom inspection systems. This work recurs by nature. Aircraft, rail networks, and power plants are inspected on schedules, not on impulse, and long client relationships follow the specialist knowledge.

End markets: aerospace, space, rail, power and utilities, and defense.

Certified special process and compliance

Heat treating, coatings, chemical processing, and non-destructive inspection, carried out under AS9100, NADCAP, and ITAR credentials with approved-vendor positions on active programs. Certifications like these take years to earn and are difficult to replicate, which is exactly why they anchor the platform.

What we look for

Four things, in every acquisition:

Financial.

Revenue of $5M to $15M, sustained profitability, and clean, normalizable earnings. No turnarounds.

Ownership.

Family-owned or founder-operated companies in the US or UK, with management willing to stay through an agreed continuity period.

Capability.

Precision machining, advanced materials, additive manufacturing, NDT products, or certified special process.

Market position.

Long customer relationships, backlog in aerospace, defense, rail, or power, certifications where the market requires them, and no dependence on a single customer.

Why these markets

Aerospace, defense, space, rail, power, and energy share two traits: their parts must be right, and their suppliers must be certified. Domestic manufacturing investment is accelerating across the US and UK, defense budgets are at multi-decade highs, and rail and grid modernization is adding certified-capability demand faster than the supplier base is growing. The companies APSG acquires hold positions exactly where that demand lands.
